The 496-day warranty provided by the Russians on equipment already in orbit for the International Space Station expires on 30 March. NASA has been forced to move up a trip by a US crew to the station to install new batteries, fans, air filters, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors. That mission was supposed to be made after the Russians launched the Service Module, but that unit has been delayed for many months.--Stephen V Cole
