@ 1st Mechanized Brigade: tank battalion, armored infantry battalion, mechanized battalion, self-propelled artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 2nd Armored Brigade: two tank battalions, two armored infantry battalions, self-propelled artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 3rd Mechanized Brigade: tank battalion, armored infantry battalion, mechanized battalion, self-propelled artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 4th Airmobile Brigade: four combat helicopter battalions.

@ 6th Light Armored Brigade: one tank destroyer battalion, armored infantry battalion, mechanized battalion, self-propelled artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 7th Armored Brigade: two tank battalions, two armored infantry battalions, self-propelled artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 9th Marine Light Armored Brigade: one tank destroyer battalion, armored infantry battalion, mechanized battalion, self-propelled artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 11th Airborne Brigade: one armored cavalry battalion, four parachute battalions, artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ 27th Mountain Infantry Brigade: one armored cavalry battalion, three mechanized infantry battalions, artillery battalion, engineer battalion.

@ Franco-German Brigade: armored cavalry battalion, mechanized infantry battalion, German units.

@ Artillery brigade: six artillery battalions.

@ Engineer Brigade: three engineer battalions, two engineer companies.

@ Signal Brigade: five signal battalions (one for each division HQ, one for land forces HQ).

@ Intelligence Brigade: five battalions.

@ Two logistics brigades, each: four transportation battalions, four maintenance battalions, one medical battalion.

Each of the brigades works through a 16-month cycle: four months of collective training, four months on standby, four months on operations or extended deployment, and four months recovering, releasing men who completed their enlistments, integrating new recruits, sending selected soldiers to advanced schooling, and so forth.--Stephen V Cole
