For the third day in a row, violence broke out in Khenchela, 500 kilometers east of the capital. A non-Berber area, the disputes are between soldiers and youths over mistreatment of civilians by the troops. Algeria has a very large unemployed youth population. There has been one death and over 40 wounded so far.
