The outlawed FIS (Islamic Salvation Front) has elected a new leader, Mourad Dhina, who lives in Switzerland. Dhina was investigated for smuggling weapons from Switzerland to Algeria, but non convicted. His political asylum was revoked, but the Swiss have allowed him to stay anyway. The Algerians continue to shelter and support (by allowing fund raising) Islamic radicals who are part of organizations that have slaughtered thousands of civilians in Algeria. But the European government refuse to accept responsibility, or admit that the Islamic fundamentalists are as bad as the Algerians say.
