Indonesia: April 4, 2001


The government has refused to extradite East Timor militiamen accused of killing a New Zealand peacekeeper last July. On Sulawesi, Christian-Moslem violence continues, with mobs attacking the police for breaking up religious riots. At least ten police have been wounded, and several civilians. Three more are dead in Aceh as violence continues.
