Several hundred additional police were sent to the Malukus to deal with the increased violence between Christians and Moslems. Police have arrested 27 local Christians for raising RMS flags. Moslem mobs marched on Christian areas, burning a Christian church. At least six bombs went off in the provincial capital, Ambon.
