The U.S. embassy was closed because of the threat of terrorist attacks. This was prompted by a terrorist web site displaying a diagram of the embassy and describing  how to place explosives to do maximum damage. Americans living in Indonesia were warned to be careful. The embassy was open again on the 30th.

The United States has agreed to resume shipment of non-lethal equipment to the Indonesian military. Training resumed three months ago. The government agreed to continue rooting out corruption in the military, in order to get the U.S. aid.
