British officials said no decision had been made on future military operations against Iraq. Meanwhile, the American commander of military forces in the region, general Franks, announced he was delegating command of operations in Afghanistan to a subordinate. This was so general Franks could concentrate on other operations in the region. The only other major operation would presumably be an invasion of Iraq.
