Palestinian police arrested a senior Hamas leader (Abdel Aziz Rantisi) in Gaza. While Hamas generally just attacks Israeli targets, it also has differences with the Palestinian Authority, especially over the terms of peace with Israel. In southern Lebanon, UN peacekeepers began occupying positions.
