 An American intelligence report stated that in 2001, North Korea received $580 million by exporting missiles and missile components. The customers were Iran, Pakistan, Libya, Syria, Egypt, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates. Also exported were $500 million in illegal narcotics and at least $15 million in counterfeit US currency. The only other major source of income for North Korea is foreign aid.
