A pro-Khartoum Islamic radical militia said that it will organize a new brigade to fight in the south. Commander Brigadier Mohammed al-Amin Karra of the Popular Defense Forces invited new "mujahadeen" to join the PDF and help take the war to the South. Another PDF spokesman said at least 40 percent of the new brigade would consist of government workers and people from "private businesses." It's unclear whether or not people are "drafted" into the PDF militia. In the past the PDF has operated closely with the Sudanese government military forces.
