The SPLA claimed seven civilians died when a Khartoum government plane bombed the south Sudan town of Narus, near the Kenyan border. The SPLA spokesman said the plane dropped 15 bombs. No description of the aircraft was provided, but one wire service report said the airstrike went on for 30 minutes. This suggests an Antonov transport-type aircraft, loitering over the target.
