US security officials have raided and shut down a possible al Qaeda training camp on a mountain ranch near Bly, Oregon. Feroz Abbassi, a British-citizen and al Qaeda member captured in Afghanistan and now held in Guantanamo has told US intelligence of links between the North London Central Mosque (a known al Qaeda recruiting base run by Abu Hamza al-Masri) and a group of Moslem radicals in Seattle (the Dar Us Salaam Mosque). It was this group which was found at the ranch in Oregon. The ranch was reportedly visited by two al Qaeda agents (one of them Swedish) who traveled there from London in Nov 99.--Stephen V Cole
