The US State Department decided to extend its terror alert warning for East Africa. State believe there is still a "high potential" for terror attacks in the region against US personnel and "interests." The big concern is shoulder-fired missiles and the warning mentioned Nairobi, Kenya.

East Africa has had a small (under one percent) population of Arabs for over two thousand years. In the past, the Arabs came mostly as traders and slavers. They still control a disproportionate amount of the economy, although they are often overshadowed by Indians (Hindus), who have been in the area in the same small numbers for nearly as long.
