The Israeli Ministry of Defense has rejected a request by Haggai Merom, a member of the Knesset, that the Green Pine radar (used to guide arrow interceptors) at Ein Shemer be operated only if an attack is imminent. Merom says that the electromagnetic radiation from the radar could be harmful to nearby civilians.--Stephen V Cole
