Lockheed Martin is testing the next-generation radar for the E-2C Hawkeye Radar Modernization Program. The new radar is mounted on a C-130 as the interior equipment won't fit into an E-2 airframe. Part of the development program is to miniaturize the equipment so it can fit into existing aircraft. The first of these new radars will be ready for service in five years.--Stephen V Cole
