The Brazilian submarine Tonelero (of the Oberon-class) sank alongside the pier on 24-25 Dec after an accident during a repair procedure. The water is only nine meters deep at that point and the submarine will be refloated fairly easily, but details of just what went wrong will not be known until the sub is raised.--Stephen V Cole
