Submarines: April 30, 2001


The Canadian Navy has removed all restrictions on women, allowing them to serve in submarine crews. The first women will enter submarine training in October of this year. Bunks will be assigned without reference to gender, but women will be provided with separate showers and dressing rooms.--Stephen V Cole
