The Royal Australian Navy has abandoned plans to create a new combat data system for the Collins-class submarines; the original system in those subs has proven unreliable and inadequate. Instead, Australia has asked the US Navy to invent a new system for the subs to ensure that US and Australian submarines can operate together seamlessly and flawlessly. --Stephen V Cole
