The Turks had said that if the US would not hand over the source computer codes for the AH-1Z attack helicopter mission computer, it would give the $4 billion order for new attack helicopters to the Russian Ka-50-2 (with Israeli electronics). However, after the US refused to give them the software, the Turks agreed to buy the helicopters, but without the mission computers. Turkey will now develop its own computer and software (or buy it from the Israelis) to replace the Litton computer used in the aircraft.--Stephen V Cole
