The upcoming (May 26th) presidential elections have revealed a major shift in Colombian politics. The two traditional politics are losing massive amounts of support to right wing parties. The people are fed up with "politics as usual" which has brought them nothing but corruption, crime and decades of leftist rebels. If one of the rightist candidates wins, it's likely the leftist rebellion will turn out into a much more destructive, but perhaps decisive, civil war.
