Police were called out in Kashmir to deal with thousands of Sikhs and Hindus protesting the massacre of 36 Sikhs. Tear gas was used, but otherwise there were no injuries. Along the Line of Control, both sides exchanged artillery fire. On the Pakistan side, three children were killed and five others injured.
