Pakistan continues to avoid responsibility for the Taliban sanctuaries in the Pakistan tribal areas along the Afghan border. Cracking down on the tribes is liable to spark a religion based uprising. The government does not want to risk it. But America wants some action here, as there is no way to stop the Taliban attacks as long as the Taliban has sanctuaries in Pakistan, Something has to give here eventually.
