Iran has filed an official complaint with the UN over the "axis of evil" speech by President George W Bush. In the complaint, Iranian Foreign Minister Kharrazi said that describing his country as "evil" was an affront to Islam. The complaint flatly denies US charges that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons, noting that to posses such devices would make Iran a target of much stronger countries. Kharrazi said his country is convinced that to develop nuclear weapons would make Iran "a threat that could be exploited" by other nations, particularly the US.--Stephen V Cole
