  Since April, 252,000 of the 2.3 million Afghan refugees in Iran have returned home. Another 12,000 illegal refugees have been expelled. Iran wants to send at least 400,000 Afghan refugees home before next April. Many of these refugees have been in Iran for over 20 years and don't want to go back. But Iranians blame the Afghans for increases in crime and drug use.
