In the last two months, drug seizures increased six fold over the same period last year. Some 31 tons of drugs were seized, 80 percent of them on the Afghan border. During the same period, ten police were killed during anti-drug operations, but 19,900 were arrested for drug smuggling and 49.500 drug addicts were arrested as well.
