 On July 6th, the US will begin broadcasting a satellite TV news show ("News and Views"), in Farsi, into Iran each night between 9:30-10 PM Iran time.  The government is protesting this, but the US government wants to encourage and support the majority of Iranians who are agitating for reforms and freedom from the dictatorship of the clerics. The government has been jamming satellite TV broadcasts, with mixed success. The addition of the American show will complicate jamming efforts.
