Evidence captured in Afghanistan showed that al Qaeda was planning to attack "economic targets" in the United States including the headquarters of Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Washington. Other targets in the Seattle area included Boeing aircraft company, the Space Needle, and the Navy's submarine base at Bangor.--Stephen V Cole
