The Air Force is testing the LongShot kit developed by Leigh Aerosystems. This adds GPS guidance and wings (giving a 72+ kilometer standoff range) to any bomb up to 1,000 pounds without requiring any modifications to the aircraft. The company claims that their system would be cheaper than other systems. Congress ordered the tests (the Air Force remains non-committal) and the company says it has had inquiries for export orders.--Stephen V Cole
