The US Army plans to build a variant of the ATACMS missile which has a single unitary warhead instead of the bomblets carried by other ATACMS. This could be used to attack well-located and heavily-protected targets without fear of leaving unexploded bomblets scattered across the countryside. The Army plans to buy 43 of these to use as a rapid response force for special missions.--Stephen V Cole
