Malaysia has ordered 22 towed G5 Mk3 155mm howitzers from Denel of South Africa. The deal, which totals $50 million, covers the guns, an AS2000 digital fire control system, initial training, spare parts, and ammunition. Malaysia currently has only a dozen howitzers, all of them FH70s bought in 1989.--Stephen V Cole
