Italy has become the fourth member of NATO to select the German PzH-2000 self-propelled 155mm Army howitzer. The Italians have ordered 70 such vehicles for $510 million. The first two, built in Germany, have already been sent to Italy for tests on Italian-designed modifications, while the others will be built in Italy with deliveries to start in 2004.--Stephen V Cole
