Two senior Taliban officials (both provincial governors) were killed when their car exploded in the northern town of Baghlan. Three days earlier, ten people were killed when a bomb exploded out side the home of the senior Taliban leader. It would appear that anti-Taliban resistance is more widespread than earlier thought, even though the Northern Alliance denies any connection with these bombings.The increasing fighting and unrest in Afghanistan has caused  India to suspend commercial flights to Afghanistan.
