CIA Director George Tenet has warned Congress that Iran is helping Taliban and Al Qaeda members escape through the porous Iranian-Afghan border. While the Iranian government continues to insist that it has and will cooperate in the war on terror, Iranian officials continue to help terrorists get out of the reach of US troops. Tenet said that the US has identified several pockets and base areas for Taliban and al Qaeda, but that the military has been unable to prevent these troops from slipping out of pockets and across borders.--Stephen V Cole
