Around Kandahar, Taliban attacked Afghan deminers, killing one and wounding two. Provincial militia went looking for the attackers and arrested eight people. Most Afghans support the demining program, for obvious reasons. For that reason, Taliban attack the deminers, in an attempt to shut down one very popular government program.
