Taliban fighters continue to seek, without much success, tactics that will enable them to gain some traction and eventual return to power. American Special Forces and army troops, working with a growing number of Afghan army and local security troops, have been successful in hunting down Taliban followers, and preventing Taliban attacks from causing much damage. American forces are not saying how much they know about the Taliban organization, but apparently it's a lot. Special Forces patrols and electronic monitoring units have been active all over the country for over 18 months now.
