Former rebel leaders, who accepted the government amnesty, have requested that they be armed and turned lose on the active rebels causing so much mayhem in the countryside. The former rebels state that the army is not really able to deal with the guerilla tactics. The former rebels know how the current rebels operate and are better able to fight and defeat them. The government has not responded to this offer.
