The French Army has selected GIAT and Matra to provide the new Terminal Information System for AMX-10RC tank destroyers and VBL 4x4 scout cars. The TIS allows scout vehicles to exchange digital information on enemy forces they have contacted. The first phase will equip 12 of each type of vehicle for extensive tests, after which 600 French Army vehicles will receive the system. The TIS is an improved version of the system sold to the UAE for their 338 Leclerc tanks.--Stephen V Cole
