Air Force General Ralph Eberhart has been picked as the head of the new Northern Command; he current heads Space Command and NORAD. His headquarters will have 500 people, but will take a year to reach full strength. Virtually all of the details of what the command is to do and how it is to function remain to be worked out.--Stephen V Cole
