The peacekeeping force in Kabul now has 3,200 troops. Many of the troops are patrolling parts of the city and the troops can't help but notice that they are more welcome than the Afghan police. In a remote areas of eastern Afghanistan, a U.S. Predator UAV armed with Hellfire missiles, spotted vehicles and men dressed as Arabs. The men were believed to be al Qaeda members, likely members of the leadership. A Hellfire was fired and seven men killed or injured. Bad weather has made it difficult to get troops to the scene to examine the situation.

Relief organizations have discovered that the Taliban deliberately inflated the number of people in refugee camps inside Afghanistan so that they could get additional foreign aid. This was used to help pay for running the Taliban government and military operations.
