A new man, a new tone, a new world in Zagreb. RFE reported that Stipe Mesic, when he was sworn in as Croatia's new president on February 18, said that his administration would press for Croatia's entrance into "Euro-Atlantic institutions." He also addressed the public as "citizens." His predecessor, Franjo Tudjman, usually addressed the public as "Croats."
