Greek police said that on December 9 they arrested a Greek intelligence officer for possible arms smuggling. The arrest took place at the Greece-Albania border. Initially, the man was arrested for possible drug smuggling, but Russian-made machine guns, other light weapons, and ammunition were found in his car. A further search of his home in the town of Florina found more arms and ammo.
