The British Army expects to have its WAH-64 Apache attack helicopters fully operational by Aug 2002. The 16th Air Assault Brigade will have 48 Apaches; the other 19 British Apaches will be with training units or in reserve as maintenance float. Sea trials for the British Apaches will begin in 2003. The US is interested in several British initiatives with Apache, including their de-icing technology, amphibious operations, and
