The Pentagon has cleared the Navy to issue a $43 million contract to Raytheon for 143 new AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles. This will include 76 for the Navy and 67 for the Air Force. These missiles will first enter service in 2002 on F-15C and F-18C
