Slovakia has decided to retire its supersonic MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-22, and Su-25 fighters and deploy an all-subsonic Air Force. This will save money and make it easier to keep pilots trained. The force will initially consist of refurbished L-39 trainers, but these will be supplemented by new aircraft (either British Hawks or Aero Vodochody L-159s).--Stephen V Cole
