General Dynamics has been picked to develop the turreted gun system for the MV-22 Osprey. This will comprise a 12.7mm GAU19 Gatling gun mounted in a lightweight turret. Ammunition will be fed to the gun by a linkless system. More than 300 of the 360 MV-22s will have these guns; most of the unarmed versions will go to a training unit. Air Force special
