Murphy's Law: July 20, 2000

The US Korean War monument reports that the US lost 54,000 troops killed in that war, but the actual number killed in combat was in fact 33,686. (Another 2,830 died in non-combat deaths in Korea) The difference is the 17,730 US troops who died in non-combat deaths not in Korea. Those who engraved the monument had mistakenly used the number of "Korean War era" deaths.--Stephen V Cole
